Job description

The Director – Technology Operations & User Experience is a strategic role within our Technology Infrastructure team. The position is responsible for delivering a world-class user experience and ensuring an optimal lifecycle of our technology operations. In this role, you will develop the requirements and build the process & strategy from the ground up to revolutionize the way we support our business. This role will create the strategic multi-year roadmap and build a leadership team capable of executing all aspects of a modern operational support structure while driving the required cultural shift.

As a key member of the technology infrastructure leadership team, you’ll oversee all technology operations and the associated interdependencies driven by business systems and applications. You’ll optimize current system workflows, introduce a zero touch resolution thought process and launch new support channel technology for our users, architecture teams and operational teams. You’ll become an expert on all the technology and business logic used within the company and build a 24/7 technology center of excellence to support our business as it continues to grow.

  • Team performance management including goals, compensation, training, and development
  • Create and implement operational M&A diligence and integration playbooks
  • Drive standardization, re-use, and simplification of the overall landscape
  • Build a zero touch resolution thought process for technology operations through simplification and automation
  • Develop the appropriate support structure to ensure our manufacturing plants have optimal support both remotely and in-person
  • Ensure strategic programs are communicated to the operations organization in a timely fashion to guarantee program delivery and ongoing support
  • Establish and deliver operational metrics, KPIs and SLAs to provide visibility into health of technology operations and performance of teams
  • Drive process refinement to continually improve operational support
  • Partner with the build and architecture teams to implement and streamline the TTO process
  • Ensure that stakeholders, end-users & peers are aware of planned and unplanned changes

·Operationally support the Wintel and cloud services computing environment, including the reliability, capacity, and sustainability of servers, storage, and other components

·Operationally support the local area and wide area networks, including remote site infrastructure

·Establish and maintain service levels for response and resolution in accordance with infrastructure and site classifications

·Develop a standard communication plan and ensure adherence to all operational work products

·Build a problem management culture by promoting root cause analysis for incidents and promptly implementing remediation plans

·Build cross-functional relationships with other technology teams such as security and App/Dev to allow for seamless integration of core processes such as zero-trust methodologies

·Own and maintain relationships with key technology vendors to ensure cost targets and efficiencies are met

·Be a business liaison for understanding business needs and how they intersect with system availability and performance

·Utilize big picture thinking and use advanced knowledge of industry standards to help shape the strategic vision of the operational response teams

·Develop a broad technology skillset within the team to allow for a SWARM team approach to the most critical business incidents

 

Minimum Salary of $180,000 + Benefits + Bonus (if applicable)

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in IT, Computer Science, MIS or related field/equivalent experience
  • 12+ years of cumulative IT Infrastructure delivery
  • 10+ years of Windows, Linux, virtualized servers, mid-range computing, SaaS, and cloud-based computing services and storage for multi-site environment
  • 3 to 5+ years of cloud-based infrastructure & services management
  • 5+ years of experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN methodologies and practices
  • ITIL & ITSM knowledge and/or certification preferred. Advanced education and related Cloud/Infrastructure certifications are a plus
  • Good understanding of Dev/Ops and Agile methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design enterprise-grade and scalable solutions
  • 10+ years of experience in related field (i.e. compute operations, network operations, etc.)
  • Previous experience leading a team of people. Coaching and mentoring junior members of the team with the ability to provide strategic input when it comes to both people and technology
  • Strong communications, both written and verbal
  • Ability to effectively communicate with non-technical audience
