Ply Gem - A Division of Cornerstone Building Brands

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 3pm-11pm

Starting pay: $$16.50 per hour + $1.00 Per Hour Shift Differential pay + $1.00 Per Hour for Perfect Attendance!

Responsible for insuring that the machines/operators are serviced as the “internal customer”.  This will require: direct communication skills, managing time, managing organization of work area, managing movement of products, changing of priorities to satisfy customer demands, and knowing all safety, departmental, and company procedures.

JOB FUNCTIONS:  All duties listed below.  Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Must have exceptional attendance record.
  • Must have Play Gem certified forklift license.
  • Must be able to understand and execute all kanban/delay card systems
  • Must have history of superior work habits and must be self-motivated.
  • Must have good people skills and be able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Coordinates necessary activities on production floor to insure: smooth flow of product on the production floor, customer service is kept at highest level possible, 5S conditions are kept at highest standards possible, time is managed at an optimum by using available resources as necessary, & all safety and performance policies are enforced.
  • Ensures that finished good skids are transported to respective area in a timely fashion.
  • Ensures that scrap gaylords are changed out in a timely fashion.
  • Must be able to climb and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Responsible for material & color changes on molding presses.
  • Responsible for supplying necessary materials to all presses including resin, cardboard, skids, etc.
  • Works closely with shift supervisors on kanban boards and shifting priorities as needed.
  • Reports any safety violations or issues involved with the machine or work area to the supervisor as quickly as possible.
  • Help promote good housekeeping within assigned area through participation in assigned 5S zone.
  • Must be able to operate all presses to assist with breaks when necessary.
  • Work closely with department supervisor and team leader on daily priorities, obstacles preventing product from getting to the customer, or any additional support needed on the floor.
  • Advise department supervisor and/or team leader when caught up and able to assist in other areas.
  • Must be able to work overtime.

Qualifications

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the job functions.
  • Must be able to operate all the molding machines in the department.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of leadership, good organization skills, judgment, ability to get the job done, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • The physical demands of this job will require an individual to frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
  • Previous Forklift experience preferred, but not required
