Job description

The Process Improvement Manager is responsible for supporting underperforming plants utilizing Lean Manufacturing concepts and principles and Kaizen methodology within the business unit.

  • The scope of work is not limited to a specific set of plants.  The Process Improvement Manager is asked to support any plant that needs help in meeting operational targets.
  • The Process Improvement Manager is responsible for helping the plants within the region to execute Annual Plans using the Lean Manufacturing Methodologies. 
  • The Process Improvement Manager is responsible for assisting in plant assessments and determine causes of why operational targets are missed. The work requires developing a support plan and follow up cadence to ensure improvement plans are completed.
  • The Process Improvement Manager will support pre-launch and post-launch Kaizen activity for new products in any plant requiring assistance within CBB
  • The Process Improvement Manager will provide support in areas that are needed, such as operations management, scheduling, maintenance, and quality, and other areas as needed.
  • This position requires extensive travel may require extended assignment within the underperforming site.
  • The Process Improvement Manager will demonstrate the ability to execute change in different locations within the organization, promote teamwork and teach skills to other plant Managers to help the succeed in their roles.

Qualifications

Education:

  • BS/BA Industrial Manager, Operations Management, Maintenance Management preferred.

Experience:

  • Requires 10+ years of professional experience, with 5+ years of experience in process improvement, design/re-design, and implementation of permanent and continuous corrective actions 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Requires limited supervision
  • Able to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead change and teach others
  • In-depth knowledge of concepts and principles defined in Lean Manufacturing / Toyota Production System including but not limited to: Operations Management, Process Improvement and Maintenance Management
  • 75%+ Travel required
