Job description

$500 BONUS for all new hires after 90 days of employment! 
We are seeking a Welder for our 1st shift operation at our Florence, AL location.  Hours are 6 am - 3:30 pm.

Job Summary:

Perform all kinds of welding and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment.

Primary Duties:

  • Receive job duties from team lead.
  • Follow work procedures and tool and material requirements.
  • Select and set up welding equipment.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded.
  • Fabricate metal building and metal roofing components.
  • Use a rod or wire and heat to join metals.
  • Use a plasma torch, grinding wheel, band saw or other instrument for cutting  metal.
  • Ensure welds meet standards and specifications.

Additional Responsibilities:

Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.

Job Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable.
  • Attention and care required to prevent injury to self or others when performing work.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, stand for long periods of time. 
  • Agreement to wear protective equipment for exposure to glare, burn, and shrapnel.
  • Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

Physical Requirements:

Standing, walking, lifting 50 lbs. or more, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, color determination, near acuity, speaking, listening

Work Environment:

  • This position is required to work in a manufacturing environment facility and at times on job sites.
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Experience Requirements:

2 years’ experience in welding/fabricating
