Job description

DUTIES AND RESPONISBILITIES

As an Online Merchandising Specialist, you will ensure the Shelter Solutions portfolio of products available for sale are merchandised across the online digital platforms in a way that maximizes visibility and revenue. In this role, you are responsible for the planning, strategy and set-up of merchandise on the sites and working with the sales, marketing, content, and user experience teams to create and execute the merchandising plan. You will create and execute merchandising plans to optimize the presentation of online products and services, deliver an exceptional online shopping experience, maximize conversions, and ensure all digital merchandising plans align with product and marketing strategies.

This position has a virtual-first hybrid work arrangement with a preferred location in Houston, TX with a minimum of two days a week in the office or co-located with other team members.

  • Manages site product hierarchy, web store structure and customer facing navigation of assigned categories, product presentations, special navigation, indexing, and site search
  • Ensures the navigation of the online store is set correctly to facilitate product finding by users
  • Manage online product listings, including content, copy and graphics; related and associated products and product relationships
  • Ensures the search functionality of the website is set and functioning properly
  • Optimizes product and category pages for SEO
  • Ensures product images and product description copy is optimized to communicate all the necessary information to users
  • Generates and analyzes reports to track online buying behavior, conversions, bounce rates and average order value
  • Generates and analyzes product and category performance reports and takes actions accordingly
  • Actions promotions on the online store and ensures prices display based on user profiles
  • Analyzes the customer experience on the website through online monitoring tools and implements improvements to optimize conversion rates and revenue
  • Develops and executes digital merchandising plans to boost sales
  • Oversees the production and maintenance of product catalogs across online ordering platforms and customer portals
  • Works closely with the Product Team and sales to categorize the company’s products to provide a smoother user experience
  • Works with the Product Team to manage new product launches and product line changes across digital platforms
  • Analyzes sales and inventory data for the online store and taking actions accordingly
  • Regularly monitors and assesses competitor e-commerce platforms, online product placement and search performance
  • Evaluates trends in retailing and e-commerce and makes recommendations for platform enhancements Stays abreast of business environment and evolving customer journeys, including customer intent, competitive pressures, and internal variables in order to adapt merchandising to meet short-term and long-term business objectives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Merchandising, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in eCommerce and merchandising
  • Foundational understanding of SEO, online store architecture and taxonomy best practices
  • Proficiency in e-commerce user monitoring tools and ability to interpret the findings and generate reports
  • Proficiency with web technology platforms and content management systems
  • Experience with SAP Hybris a plus
  • Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality, working in a fast-pace environment
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Outcome-driven orientation with a bias for proactive solutioning and ability to see a vision through to execution
  • Ability to work at a detailed level while maintaining an overall project perspective for a variety of customer segments and brands
