Job description

Oversee and coordinate daily logistic activities. Directly supervises day shift Shipping Coordinators and drivers. The role will plan, assign, and direct the work for our delivery and shipping operation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead (hire, train, supervise, develop) a team of shipping coordinators and drivers
  • Coordinate and support shipping/receiving, picking/packing/checking, inventory/storage
  • Manage all warehouse responsibilities and upkeep of inventory records, storage management, 5S, etc.
  • Ensure the effective dispatching of company delivery trucks
  • Coordinate with other company personnel to expedite shipments and resolve problems
  • Notify internal customers of variances such as backorders or delays and respond to inquiries
  • Work closely with drivers to ensure the load are handled in the most productive manner
  • Assist drivers with any questions, concerns or variances on their load
  • Point of contact for special customer requests
  • Assist in DOT administrative compliance and CDL Drivers record keeping

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, 4 year degree preferred 
  • 5 years transportation leadership or logistics leadership experience
  • Proven ability and experience to supervise, lead and motivate a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Results-oriented team player with a proactive and can-do attitude
  • Work well under pressure in a fast paced environment with the ability to adapt to change
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • Solid understanding and use of computer basics (Microsoft Office, email, internet)
  • Ability to work flexible schedules (extended hours, weekends, holidays, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently with the skill to ascertain work-load priorities, define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, shipping instructions and procedural manuals
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure and understand units of measure
  • Good verbal, written and comprehension skills
  • Able to define problems and apply solutions
  • Some travel required (less than 10%)

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 + 5% Annual Bonus + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
