Job description
SCOPE OF ROLE:
The Vice President – Genesis, is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing and directing the planning, execution, and successful implementation of the Genesis Project. This role is crucial in ensuring the project and associated deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and within budget, while also meeting the company’s strategic objectives. This role requires an executive with a proven track record of problem-solving, change management, and functional transformation.
The ideal candidates will be comfortable leading through transformational change within a large geographically dispersed organization. This position requires the ability to operate strategically and tactically in a dynamic environment. This role aims to influence key leaders by working collaboratively with all levels of the organization to deliver.
KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement project management strategies, methodologies and best practices to drive successful outcomes
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align project foals with organizational objectives and strategy
- Provide visionary leadership to the project management office and system implementation teams
- Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the Project Genesis Team
- Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality
Project Management Oversight
- Lead and mentor the Project Genesis team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
- Ensure that resources are being allocated effectively and that risks are identified and mitigated
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure project success and implement continuous improvement processes
- Foster collaborative and results-oriented project management environment
Business Management & Financial Acumen
- Develop and manage project budget, optimizing resource allocation and ensuring cost-effectiveness
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision making
- Fost a culture of accountability for Project spend
- Look holistically at employee resources and understand and identify key process owners and full-time resource needs vs. contractors
Stakeholder Management
- Act as primary contact for stakeholders regarding project updates, challenges, and changes
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including vendors and customers
- Maintain continuous lines of communication regarding project status, risks, and issues to senior management and other key stakeholders
IT Workstream Leadership
- Identify and develop key IT stakeholders to take lead on the technology and implementation pieces of the project
- Identify and assess skill gaps or resources gaps and solve for them
- Oversee IT readiness and actively collaborate with IT stakeholders to align on strategy, initiatives, and continuous improvement
Change Management
- Develop and execute comprehensive change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of Genesis project systems, processes, and technologies
- Lead organizational change efforts including stakeholder communication, training, and support, to minimize resistance and maximize acceptance and adoption
- Monitor and address change impacts and ensure that change initiatives are aligned with overall business goals and objectives
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Business degree required; Master’s in business administration is preferred
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in an executive management role ideally with project management and/or large-scale business transformation
- Minimum of 10 years in people management role
- Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization
- Proven judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Proven exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the experience effectively interfacing with senior management, board of directors, and employees
