Summary:
This position is responsible for the following areas within the Credit Department, such as generating of customer invoices/statements, applying payments to customer accounts, as well as reviewing/issuing credits/debits to customer accounts. They are responsible for ensuring that the standard operating procedures are followed, and that the proper approvals have been obtained.
Job Duties:
- Applying payments to customer accounts
- Verifying payment deductions (discounts/rebates, etc.), and notifying Credit & Collections department of discrepancies.
- Ensuring Deposits on customer accounts are applied properly/timely.
- Following up with branches on deposit information for posting
- Print/mail customer invoices/statements.
- Issuing/verifying of credits/debits to customer accounts, from requests submitted by branches, as well as Head Office.
- Assist branches with processing credit/debit requests, etc.
- Filing of completed Credits/Debits.
- Reviewing Credit/Debit requests to ensure that they are handled in a timely manner.
- Other duties as required.
- High school or College diploma in business administration or accounting.
- 3+ years of experience within a similar role.
- Intermediate knowledge of Accounting, Excel.
- Mathematical skills.
- Ability to communicate with others within the organization.
- Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
- Requires considerable concentration and focus; it is subject to stress caused by a changing environment, tight deadlines, and workload.
- Ability to learn other tasks within the Accounting Department, in order to help other areas when needed.
- Ability to follow department and company SOP’s
