Job Description

OVERVIEW

Roof & Wall Estimators are responsible for providing direct support to internal and external customers by creating and supplying computer generated take-offs and detailed material lists using company supported applications. These project specific outputs are utilized for pricing these publicly bid projects using the most current pricing available. Roof & Wall Estimators are responsible in ensuring estimates are being done in accordance with the high standards of the organization to achieve premiere results relative to overall lead-time and total output efficiencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares estimates from information received - such as contract drawings, specifications, and addendums using in-house pricing software, supplemental design and pricing programs and information obtained from 3rd party vendors.
  • Identifies exclusions, discrepancies, and missing information to obtain scope clarification and qualifies the quotation (through Project Notes) based on findings.
  • Executes adds, deducts, or alternates as requested, to estimates that require special pricing beyond current pricing software capabilities.
  • Ensures the use of the most current pricing information when preparing the estimate.
  • Maintains internal and external vendor/customer relationships.
  • Communicates with Builders, Sales, Customer Service, Project Coordinators and Engineering regarding any clarification of scope/design intent that the Estimator was involved in.
  • Displays and ensures personal commitment to efficiently utilizing company time in a remote work environment.
  • Reports to Estimating Manager or Estimating Team Leader.
  • Work-related travel is typically, but not limited to, 2 times per year or less.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Certificate or Degree in related field preferred but not required

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Good mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Supports Continuous Improvement activities to improve personal performance.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines to completion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal methods.
  • Ability to review and interpret project specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, customer drawings, and other project specifications.
  • Exhibit competency in use of in-house estimating applications, pricing programs and procedures.
  • Must be computer proficient, particularly with Estimating Takeoff applications and Excel.
  • Must be detail and customer service oriented, with a Customer Centric mindset.
  • Must be comfortable with interpersonal communications through phone and video calling communication
  • Basic knowledge of metal building cladding and components product offerings.
  • Basic understanding of design considerations is preferred.
  • Basic understanding or experience with CAD Software is preferred.

Additional Information

The US hourly range for this full-time position is $25.00 -$30.00 + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. (Full-time is defined as regularly working 30+ hours per week.)
