Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Director of Human Resources to support our Commercial groups within the Surfaces US business unit. This pivotal leadership role will focus on accelerating capability building and driving cultural immersion within their client groups. As a strategic partner to the business, you will lead HR initiatives that enhance performance, foster talent development, and support the growth high-performing culture.

You will be instrumental in aligning HR strategies with business goals, managing impactful learning programs, and building strong leadership pipelines that empower our teams to deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capability Building: Design and implement programs that accelerate skills development across commercial teams, with a focus on leadership, sales excellence, customer experience, and strategic thinking.
  • Cultural Immersion: Champion the company values, ensuring cultural alignment and strengthening employee engagement through tailored cultural initiatives and leadership immersion programs.
  • Talent Strategy: Partner with senior leaders to develop and execute talent management strategies, including talent reviews, succession planning, high-potential development, and leadership coaching that supports long-term commercial objectives.
  • Sales Compensation: Own sales compensation practices and processes by partnering with Total Rewards and Sales leadership to design, administer, evaluate, and iterate variable compensation plans tied to desired goals, behaviors, and pay-for-performance philosophy
  • Organizational Design & Effectiveness: Identify and drive key organizational changes that will improve business performance. Counsel with commercial leadership to design agile, high-performing organizational structures and job roles to align workflows and enable achievement of business objectives
  • Employee Experience & Engagement: Oversee initiatives that enhance employee experience across commercial functions, including talent retention programs, recognition schemes, engagement survey action planning and execution, and creating a culture of feedback and continuous learning.
  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts for critical organizational transformations, ensuring smooth transitions and sustained business performance during times of change.
  • Data-Driven HR: Leverage data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives and drive continuous improvements in programs related to learning, development, and employee engagement.
  • Talent Acquisition: Be accountable for talent acquisition efforts in the commercial function and driving continuous improvement in measurable results by connecting management, recruiting, and HR to quickly place strong talent in the organization
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Marketing, HR Operations) to ensure HR strategies are aligned with commercial business goals and help drive collaboration across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is a plus.
  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with a proven track record of driving capability-building initiatives
  • Strategic Thinker: Experience working closely with across leadership teams at all levels to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business objectives and deliver measurable results.
  • Cultural Leader: Strong background in building and immersing teams in a company culture that promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and performance.
  • Results-Driven: Demonstrated ability to execute with excellence, delivering outcomes that positively impact business performance and organizational health.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organization.
