Position Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Director, Product Management to lead innovation and product management for our $500M windows and doors business across 8 manufacturing sites in northern California, Washington, Colorado, and Arizona. This strategic leadership role demands a dynamic executive who can drive product strategy, manage complex cross-functional initiatives, and deliver breakthrough innovations in a rapidly evolving building materials market. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a growth mindset who thrives in ambiguous environments, demonstrates exceptional strategic thinking, and possesses the mental agility to solve complex problems across multiple product lines, brands, and market channels.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Innovation
- Product Strategy Development: Lead comprehensive product portfolio strategy across multiple brands, channels, and market segments, ensuring optimal positioning and competitive advantage
- Innovation Pipeline Management: Drive new product development from ideation through commercialization, managing a robust innovation pipeline worth $50M+ in annual revenue potential
- Market Analysis & Insights: Conduct sophisticated market research including qualitative/quantitative analysis, willingness-to-pay studies, and competitive intelligence to inform strategic decisions
- Economic Value Modeling: Develop and execute advanced economic models to evaluate product opportunities, pricing strategies, and ROI optimization across the portfolio
Operational Excellence
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Influence and collaborate effectively with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams across 8 production facilities
- Product Portfolio Management: Oversee product lifecycle management, rationalization initiatives, and margin optimization strategies for 200+ SKUs
- Manufacturing Integration: Partner closely with plant leadership to ensure seamless product launches, quality standards, and operational efficiency
- Performance Management: Drive key performance metrics including revenue growth, margin expansion, and market share gains
Team Leadership & Development
- Team Building: Recruit, develop, and retain top-tier product management talent while fostering a culture of innovation and accountability
- Mentorship: Provide strategic guidance and career development for direct reports, building next-generation product leadership capabilities
- Stakeholder Management: Present to executive leadership, and key customers on product strategy, market opportunities, and business performance
Required Qualifications
Experience & Background
- 10+ years of progressive product management experience with 5+ years in senior leadership roles
- Building materials, construction, or manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred
- Proven track record managing $100M+ product portfolios with demonstrable revenue and margin growth
- Experience with multi-site manufacturing operations and complex supply chain environments
- Deep understanding of B2B and B2C distribution channels (retail, professional, distribution)
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Advanced market research capabilities including qualitative methods, quantitative analysis, and willingness-to-pay modeling
- Economic value modeling expertise with proficiency in financial analysis, pricing optimization, and ROI evaluation
- Data-driven decision making with experience in analytics tools, market intelligence platforms, and KPI management
- Understanding of product development processes from concept through commercialization
Leadership & Interpersonal Skills
- Exceptional cross-functional influence skills with ability to drive results without direct authority

Educational & Professional
- MBA from top-tier institution or equivalent advanced degree
- P&L management experience with full business unit responsibility

- Professional certifications in product management (e.g., AIPMM, Pragmatic Institute)
Industry Knowledge
- Deep understanding of window and door markets including residential, commercial, and specialty segments
- Customer expertise across contractors, builders, distributors, and retail channels
- Regulatory and compliance knowledge related to building codes, energy efficiency standards, and industry certifications
- Experience with brand management and positioning in competitive markets
Technical Capabilities
- Digital transformation experience including product digitization and IoT integration
- Sustainability and green building expertise with knowledge of LEED, Energy Star, and environmental regulations
- Supply chain optimization and vendor management experience
