Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE  

The Director, Transformation Office will lead Cornerstone Building Brands’ transformative initiatives, with a primary focus on executing acquisition integrations and key strategic business initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, this role will establish robust processes and provide enterprise-wide visibility into critical transformation efforts, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and delivering measurable outcomes. The Director will drive cross-functional collaboration, standardize methodologies, and lead change management to support the company’s growth and operational excellence across its Windows, Siding, and Shelter business units.

The role requires exceptional leadership skills to influence without direct authority and drive results in a complex, matrixed organization spanning 100+ manufacturing facilities and 19,000 employees.  The role will support the other two leaders of the Growth team, the VP of Corporate Development & Integration and the VP of Corporate Strategy.

The ideal candidate will combine deep project management expertise with strategic thinking capabilities, serving as the operational backbone for the company’s portfolio of strategic initiatives while contributing to broader corporate strategy development.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Acquisition Integration

  • Support the Corporate Development team in the end-to-end execution of acquisition integration projects, developing and implementing standardized integration playbooks to ensure seamless alignment of processes, systems, and teams across acquired entities.
  • Develop and manage integration plans that preserve the strategic rationale of the acquisition post-close as been integrated. This will include tracking progress on key financial and operational metrics, ensuring synergy capture (commercial, cross-sell, cost, etc.), and facilitating organizational changes to meet pre-acquisition financial targets.
  • Provide regular integration updates to the Chief Growth Officer and Executive Committee, delivering clear, data-driven reports to maintain transparency and alignment with strategic goals

Strategic Business Initiative Execution

  • Support the VP of Corporate Strategy and the Business Units in the execution of high-priority strategic initiatives.
  • Define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables in partnership with senior leadership, managing complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Establish KPIs and success metrics to evaluate initiative performance, conducting post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
  • Translate strategic concepts into actionable plans, prioritizing initiatives that enhance market position and operational efficiency.

Process and Visibility for Transformational Execution

  • Design and implement governance frameworks to standardize transformation processes, including stage-gate methodologies, approval criteria, and project management best practices.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise-wide visibility into the transformation portfolio, creating dashboards and reporting mechanisms to provide executive leadership with real-time insights.
  • Implement project management tools to enhance collaboration, transparency, and resource allocation across business units.
  • Drive change management initiatives to support adoption of new processes, systems, or structures, fostering a culture of adaptability and cross-functional alignment.
  • Develop internal transformation capabilities through training, coaching, and mentoring, establishing Centers of Excellence (COE) for project and change management.

Strategic Support

  • Contribute to the annual Strategic Planning Conference and Board Strategy Planning Conference, developing Board-level presentations that visually demonstrate transformation progress and strategic impact.
  • Support corporate strategy development by embedding transformation insights into long-term planning and value creation initiatives, including M&A due diligence and integration planning.
  • Collaborate with the Strategy team to align transformation efforts with portfolio optimization and competitive analysis initiatives.

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required (preferably in Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field); MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience including 4+ years in enterprise project management or PMO leadership roles and 4+ years in corporate strategy, strategy consulting, or business operations
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certification preferred
  • Demonstrated success establishing and scaling Transformation/PMO functions in complex organizations
  • The ability to influence without direct authority, building strong relationships with Business Unit Leaders and Functional Leaders to secure buy-in and drive results in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience managing project portfolios with combined budgets exceeding $100M
  • Proven track record in manufacturing, industrials, or building products industries preferred
  • Background in M&A integration project management strongly preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) preferred
