Job Description

The primary responsibility for a Drafting Supervisor is to oversee complete and accurate detailing deliverables (drawings, shop details, BOMs, etc.) while maintaining high quality and on-time delivery in support of customer specific requirements. This role requires demonstrated leadership skills and strong technical knowledge of Metal Building products, detailing tools including AutoCAD, Tekla, and the ability to adapt to interdepartmental processes.

  • This role handles the general supervisory responsibilities of a team of Drafters, while maintaining the required amount of detailing responsibilities as described above
  • Monitor progress toward completion dates
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Train and mentor Drafters 
  • With the assistance of the Drafting Manager, compensation management, performance evaluation and improvement, and disciplinary actions will also be performed in this role
  • Minimum of 7-years metal building drafting experience or related field with demonstrated leadership skills

Qualifications

  • Experience in industrials, manufacturing, and/or building products
  • Experience using Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit, Trimble Connect and other detailing software
  • Experience checking Tekla drawings and BOMs
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to adapt to an environment and work well with other
  • Ability to learn document flow and follow detailed instructions
  • Ability to influence leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches
  • Ability to perform under pressure and lead multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Good level of understanding of technology, digital solutions, & model base engineering
  • Strong process improvement background.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Strong people management, performance management, and knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and engineering management
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi tasks
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Skilled in writing and presenting to senior management
  • Strong PC, Microsoft Office, and general technology competency
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma. Associate of Applied Science degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years metal building drafting experience or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience
