Job Description

Base pay rate is $30.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on experience

1st Shift: 6:00AM - 2:30PM, hours may vary depending on operations

This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.

The ETS Controls Technician supports multiple manufacturing facilities with equipment installation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting activities. This role is designed for individuals developing technical skills in industrial maintenance, including exposure to PLC systems, electrical and mechanical systems, hydraulics, and CAD drawing interpretation. The position works under the guidance of senior technicians and engineering teams to support equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Travel to manufacturing plants to assist with equipment installation, setup, and startup activities  

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems under supervision  

  • Assist with basic troubleshooting of equipment issues and escalate complex problems as needed  

  • Read and follow electrical schematics, basic CAD drawings, and maintenance manuals  

  • Assist in equipment inspections and identify potential maintenance needs  

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition  

  • Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements  

  • Participate in training and development programs to build technical skills  


Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Technical certification or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field preferred  

  • 0–2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (internships or co-op experience acceptable)  

  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or industrial systems  

  • Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and schematics (training provided)  

  • Willingness to learn PLC systems and industrial automation  

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset  

  • Ability to travel frequently (50–75% or as required)  

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Exposure to PLC systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens)  

  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics  

  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance practices  

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Exposure to industrial environments, including noise, heat, dust, and moving machinery  

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends as needed  

  • Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces  

 

Reporting Structure 

  • Reports to: Engineering Technical Services Manager  

  • Works closely with: Senior Technicians, Maintenance Teams, Engineering, and Operations
