2nd Shift: 3pm-11:30pm
Duties and Responsibilities
The Quality Control Technician I will verify test product conformance to specification, train operators on the use of test equipment, train operators on customer requirements, provide advanced testing and inspection, maintain quality documentation, and utilize quality tools to assist the production and engineering groups in the development and maintenance of stable and capable extrusion processes.
- Communicate, document, and help train operators on the customer requirements
- Perform advanced product testing (impact, weight, color, gloss, etc as necessary)
- Verify parts meet specification at profile start-up prior to start of production run.
- Auditing/verification of finished goods and/or in-process operator check verification
- Measurement equipment support and training
- Participate in the daily Material Review Board meeting and be responsible for conducting root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Work with leads, supervisors, technicians, and other quality support members to correct shifts/trends as necessary.
- Make go/no go decisions on questionable product
- Audits extrusion paper work to ensure all necessary documents are being filled out to ensure material traceability.
- Maintains and updates QMS documents and quality contents as needed.
- Participates in the QMS auditing process and helps develop modifications as necessary
- Coordination of first article sample collection and testing
- Perform product testing (dimension, material, and appearance) and Provides first article data and reports to Quality Engineer in necessary format(s) as assigned.
- Assist in the development and verification of new test standards and equipment to meet the changing and growing customer requirements.
- Work with customer to resolve customer concerns as necessary
- Assist with the creation and verification of daily process monitoring tools
- High School diploma or equivalent on the job training preferred
- Good Computer Skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to take photos and transfer into documents
- Evidence of responsibility for verifying product conformance to specifications either in a quality role or production role.
- Knowledge and ability to use multiple types of measuring equipment ie: Calipers, depth gauge, etc.
- Good communication skills, both written & oral
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and present recommendations in a clear, concise, and logical manner.
- Good organization, prioritization and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, and work in a fast pace flexible environment.
- Strong aptitude in process improvement and problem solving
- Desire to continue to grow and develop personally
- Developing knowledge of quality systems
- Self-motivated & Customer focused
- Proven team work and leadership abilities
- Preferably experience in an extrusion environment
