Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR programs to address the needs of the manufacturing facility.
  • Identify workforce trends and offer proactive solutions to support business growth and improvement.
  • Foster a positive work environment by managing employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, grievances, and complaints.
  • Implement programs and initiatives that promote employee engagement and reduce turnover.
  • Advise management on handling disciplinary actions, investigations, and employee complaints in compliance with labor laws.
  • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of skilled employees to meet operational needs.
  • Collaborate with leadership to design training and development programs that enhance employee skills and leadership capabilities.
  • Ensure succession planning is in place for critical roles within the manufacturing plant.
  • Ensure fair and compliant compensation practices across the business.
  • Implement performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and career development planning.
  • Provide coaching to managers and employees on performance improvement plans and developmental feedback.
  • Administer employee benefit programs and support leadership in addressing compensation concerns and inquiries.
  • Work closely with the safety team to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Help drive initiatives that promote a culture of health, safety, and well-being in the workplace.
  • Manage relationships with union representatives, if applicable, ensuring compliance with labor contracts and addressing union-related issues.
  • Ensure that all HR practices are in compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws.
  • Utilize HR analytics and metrics to assess workforce trends and drive continuous improvement in HR processes and employee performance.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to leadership on key HR metrics, including turnover, headcount, and employee engagement.
  • Foster a culture of high performance and strong employee engagement.
  • Maintain and coordinate employee recognition programs.
  • Partner with the hiring manager and Talent Acquisition team to identify staffing requirements aligned with organizational goals.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • At least [3-5] years of experience in an HR role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment and walk through production areas.
  • Experience in Plants is a must.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws and regulations within manufacturing settings.
  • Experience with employee relations, performance management, and talent development in a unionized or non-unionized environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex employee issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in performing and managing HR Investigations and Reporting.
  • Highly accurate and detailed-oriented.
  • Comfortable presenting to a group.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills – with the ability to pivot gracefully as business needs and priorities change.
  • Ability to connect to individuals at all organizational levels with emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of employees.
  • Results-driven, ability to work independently confident in the ability to make decisions.

Additional Information

Preferences:

  • Master's degree or HR certification.
