Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Immigration Compliance Specialist to lead our immigration compliance function with precision, integrity, and excellence.
Responsibilities:
In-depth knowledge of Form I-9 and E-Verify procedures, including acceptable documentation (EADs, auto-extensions, Form I-94s, Form 797C, etc.)
Strong understanding of U.S. visa processes – while this role isn’t focused on cross-border immigration management, visa sponsorship experience is key
Hands-on immigration compliance experience with a strong commitment to regulatory accuracy
Serve as a subject matter expert in immigration compliance for HR and leadership teams
Manage the end-to-end work authorization process, ensuring timely and accurate documentation
Coach, train, and support HR partners and stakeholders on compliance protocols and risk mitigation
Maintain accurate records and reporting systems for re-verification and audits
Stay current on evolving laws, policies, and regulations—and translate them into practical guidance
Partner with legal counsel and external vendors to ensure compliance and high service standards
Lead due diligence efforts in M&A activities and special projects involving immigration
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIERMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business or related area of study is required
- Minimum 7 years’ professional HR experience required, with at least 5 years’ experience specializing in immigration compliance in the US with a desire to expand subject matter experience to other geographies (Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica)
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Travel expectation is approximately 10%
