Job Description

We are looking for people who are about to graduate (this year 2025), recent graduates or with 1 year of experience in the market (MAXIMUM). This is an entry level role.

Overview:

Perform structural design of metal building  components  and  systems  by  performing  the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following. (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Design metal building components and systems which are structurally sound, comprehensive, cost effective and timely which meet all requirements for building codes, material specifications and company procedures, while minimizing drafting, manufacturing and erection efforts to produce the design.
  • Prepare basic sketches and perform basic engineering calculations for project assignments.
  • Learn methods to assist in the reduction of manufacturing and drafting costs, increase ease of product erection, and maximize customer value.
  • Promptly   return   calls, emails   and   other   correspondence   from   customers, sales, or manufacturing as necessary.
  • Learn to utilize company proprietary and industry design software.
  • Develop engineering skills and product knowledge.
  • Communicate needs and challenges identified to all team members to assure quick disposition of issues.
  • Identify opportunities for: improving productivity without loss of accuracy, reducing manufacturing costs through utilization of standard parts where possible, increasing ease of product erection, and maximizing customer value.
  • Interact with internal and external customers to develop and maintain relationships by providing the technical expertise to solve field issues in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Plan and schedule workloads in order to accurately predict time frames required to complete the work.
  • Maintain proper file management in accordance with company and industry standards.
  • Manage the product schedule to ensure timely delivery of products and maintain weight variance per company standards.

  • Advance English level (Is a Must).
  • Knowledge of structural design codes (AISC, ASCE, IBC, etc.) preferred.
  • Knowledge of the design of steel structures and Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings preferred.

Additional Information

Education and/or Experience:

  • University degree in civil engineering, or advanced studies in civil engineering or one year of work experience in Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (1 year maximum).
  • One year related experience (1 year maximum).

Computer Skills:

  • RAM, MATHCAD, Adobe Acrobat software experience preferred.
  • AutoCAD, Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) software experience required.
