Job Description

Loading, Shipping & Receiving 2nd Shift

Base Pay: $21.50 per hour plus $1.50 per hour shift differential

2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Assemble customer orders for shipping.  Retrieve products from shipping racks and assemble orders according to shipping documents.   

  • Review shipping documents and determine products needed to complete customer order.
  • Pull products from shipping racks. 
  • Place product onto cart for transport; marking necessary notation on shipping paperwork.
  • Move loaded cart to truck-loading area.
  • Log total number/type of windows pulled and missing product.
  • Notify appropriate individuals of missing/damaged products.
  • May visit production lines to locate missing products.
  • Assist in other Shipping positions as required.
  • Continuously performs quality control tasks such as visually inspects vinyl and glass for imperfections, places rejects in specified area per training.
  • Sweep, wipe surfaces, empty waste/recycling containers, and/or clean work area as needed throughout the shift.
  • Complete and maintain paperwork as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 75 lbs of weight or more on a continuous basis.
  • Ability to become familiar with all production line contact personnel, products, and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize work tasks according to production requirements.
  • Ability to visually perceive scratches, irregularities, or other imperfections in materials.
  • Ability to comprehend written instructions, measurements, or coding spelled out on production paperwork/tags.
  • Ability to accurately complete the essential functions of this job on a continual basis in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to make sound judgments and decisions as required to complete job functions/tasks.
  • Ability to deal effectively with co-workers and supervisors/managers.
  • Ability to perform repetitive or short-cycle work.
  • Ability to work effectively under stress and/or tight deadlines.
  • Ability to willingly follow instructions both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multi-tasks job duties.
  • Ability to contribute to a safe and drug free workplace.
  • Ability to meet quality standards.
  • Language: Ability to read, write and speak simple English as appropriate to a manufacturing environment.  Must be able to read production tags, production paperwork, safety warning labels and signs; must be able to verbally communicate with coworkers, leads and supervisor regarding the production process and safety related information.
  • Mathematics: Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division calculations.
  • Reasoning: Ability to carry out instructions in written, verbal and physically demonstrated or diagrammed form.  Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations.

 

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred in a manufacturing/production environment

 

Equipment used 

Carts, rope, paperwork, pens/pencils, radio, barcode scanner, forklift, computer terminals, printer, safety glasses, earplugs, protective sleeves, gloves, and safety boots.
