Position Overview
North Star Windows & Doors currently has an opening for an Electrician within our Maintenance team. In this role, you will partner with Millwrights and fellow Electricians to support the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced window and door manufacturing facility.
This position is responsible for maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting a variety of plant equipment. You’ll play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly by diagnosing electrical issues while also assisting with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, install, and dismantle machinery and equipment in line with operational requirements
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and support timely resolution
- Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine proper procedures
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, codes, and company standards
- Identify potential hazards and contribute to a safe working environment
- Support and guide apprentices as required to ensure successful task completion
- Licensed 309A or 442A Electrician, or apprentices with level 2 and above
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and electronic)
- Working knowledge of CMMS work order systems
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and team mindset
- Proven reliability and strong attendance record
- Experience in the fenestration industry is considered an asset
- Flexibility to support 24/7 operations and overtime as required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to work in an environment requiring PPE (safety boots, glasses, etc.)
- Awareness of hazards associated with the electrical trade
