JOB DETAILS

Base Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Purchases, maintains inventory and attendant records of parts, tooling, consumables and services for plant operations. Responsible to keep accurate records of standard tools, parts and equipment stocks and replenish as they reach reorder points. Maintains vendor relationships; establishes and maintains file of catalogs, samples, literature, and websites. Ships items for repair and/or transfer to other plants. Puts received items away in MRO.

Accountable for accuracy of inventory counts, orders placed, and equipment repair flow, including records of equipment sent to vendors, repair status, and receiving of repaired equipment. Assists with determining adequate standard inventory for daily operational demands. Maintains the low stock listing; stocks new parts and develops reorder points. Must ensure timely and ongoing communication with vendors to facilitate delivery orders.

  • Manage maintenance, repair, and operations with the aid of a computerized inventory system
  • Prepares requisitions through the computerized system based on reorder point, low stock items and requests from plant personnel
  • After proper authorization, prepares purchase orders through computerized system and places the orders in a prompt and efficient manner
  • Maintains accurate and available low stock listing of critical spare parts by seeking input from associates and maintenance engineer; stock new parts and develop reorder points for them
  • Enter data into computer
  • Source and order non-standard inventory parts, tools, and equipment; communicate directly with vendors via telephone, fax, or written correspondence to order parts or check status of orders, or to check status of plant equipment sent out for repair
  • Research and consumer shop for best value on parts, tools and supplies
  • Find vendors for odd and difficult-to-find items
  • Locate and distribute repair parts and tools from inventory
  • Issue Company standard tools to Supervisors
  • Ship and receive plant equipment which has been repaired or requires repair
  • Interface with parts and equipment sales representatives; review new product offerings, maintain catalog file, obtain samples and literature, and advise Maintenance Engineer of recent product developments
  • Repair small hand tools (drills, staple guns, nail guns)
  • Issue daily consumable items (e.g., glue pads, gloves, tape, C clams, etc.) to plant employees where applicable
  • Complete daily forklift safety/damage inspection checks
  • Report any safety violations or issues to the supervisor immediately for prompt resolution
  • Help promote good housekeeping with assigned area through participation in assigned 5S zone(s)
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required

Qualifications

Education: High School Graduate/GED.

Experience: One year general purchasing experience. Prefer experience with equipment and repair parts.

Knowledge: Must be able to read, write and perform basic math skills as job duties require. Must be able to obtain knowledge of working equipment and repair parts identification terms.

Mental/Physical/Visual Demands: Must possess common sense, positive attitude, and demonstrate excellent attendance. Must be quality and safety conscious, a team player. Must be able to work quickly with product and able to lift 50 pounds maximum, able to lift with assistance 87 to 100 pounds, keep colors separate, and record weights accurately. Must have excellent manual dexterity and be able to concentrate for sustained periods. Must have good communication skills and be able to interact with people.

Working Conditions: Extensive standing, frequent bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting and walking. Extreme weather conditions.

Equipment/Tools Used: Required personal protective equipment and some hand tools inclusive of but not limited to hacksaw and tape measure.
