Dayshift - Must be available On Call if needed
Pay Rate starting at $31 per hour
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Maintenance Technician 2 working in Buildings and Grounds, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to, setting up equipment as needed, the repair of equipment, performing preventative maintenance, ordering replacement parts for equipment, repair leaks of all kinds. A successful candidate must have superior written and verbal communication skills. This position requires strict adherence to safety policies and procedures and a commitment to customer quality. This position requires flexibility; must be available for regular standby assignments; work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required.
- Demonstrate ability to read and trouble shoot PLC programming and logic to diagnose problems and institute machine repairs
- Demonstrate ability to diagnose servo controls systems problems and replace components
- Understanding PID loop principles
- Demonstrate the knowledge of labor scheduling and to coordinate the work of others
- Demonstrate capability to lead and manage projects
- Ability to back up maintenance supervisor
- Ability to design and build mechanical systems including retrofitting equipment with upgraded technology
- Ability to train all employees on equipment
- Knowledge of power distribution systems and basic troubleshooting
- Ability to troubleshoot problems within a complex electrical schematics
- Understand PMC ordering system
- Expected to complete trend analysis of equipment and parts usage
- Ability to assist venders to remote into are equipment to help troubleshoot and fix problems
- Demonstrate ability to perform at standards of a Facilities Technician and Maintenance Technician 1
- Ability to be on call for after-hours work, including snow removal, weather-related issues, and any other facility needs requiring assistance.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- 2-year technical school degree desired
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with controls, instrumentation, motors, piping and rotating equipment desired
- Experience with PLCs a plus
- Basic knowledge in mechanical repairs and troubleshooting techniques
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Must be willing to attend training sessions as needed, including out of state locations
- Basic understanding of electrical safety and motor control circuits
- Basic understanding of electrical principles such as voltage, current and resistance
- Familiar with electrical measurement devices(voltage meters, micrometers)
- Basic knowledge of pneumatic systems
- Ability to use windows based software programs
- Ability to express verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills
- Possess strong work ethic and knowledge of simple troubleshooting.
- Skilled in following directives of more senior level technicians and/or Supervision
- Prefer some level of basic metal fabrication and welding experience
- Knowledge of and experience with proper Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures
- Flexible and willing to work various maintenance shifts

- Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform heavy physical work with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions. Will use a variety hand and power tools, may drive a motor vehicle and/or light construction equipment, fork trucks, platform lifts etc.
- Lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 90 pounds and heavier weights with the use of proper equipment and assistance. Must be able to read printed materials and a computer screen.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use fingers and hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit for long periods, as well as occasionally be required to climb or balance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
- Exposure to variable temperatures as impacted by the weather.
Work Environment:
Mainly a manufacturing facility, where exposed to moving mechanical parts, forklifts, heavy pallets, moderate to loud noise level, and air-borne dust, powders, and fumes. While working, will be required to wear various personal protective equipment (e.g., clothing, gloves, goggles, safety glasses, steel toed shoes, cut resistant aprons, etc.) based on work area or task.
