Job Description

Base pay starts at $35.00/hour

Shift hours: 7:00AM - 4:00PM, potential for overtime

The primary focus of this position is to maintain equipment, building, and grounds is good shape. Repair as well as preventative maintenance is required on equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Do preventative maintenance to equipment with list provided by Production Manager. Suggest additions/changes to the maintenance schedule.
  2. Diagnose problems with the various type of equipment in facility
  3. Repair the various type of equipment in facility.
  4. Design, build, and install, various types of project/machine enhancements as directed by the Production Manager.
  5. Repair building structures, change/build minor construction projects in office/shop floor.
  6. If repairs/diagnostics are needed beyond the training/ability of the maintenance personnel, he/she will contact the manufactures technical support resolve the problem.
  7. If repairs/diagnostics are needed beyond the scope of what is able to be resolved in above manner, with the approval of the production manager, will line up vendor on site repair.
  8. Utilize Assess Essentials and Vector Solutions software platforms.
  9. Keep supplies for maintenance and other areas filled as needed.
  10. Be very aware and utilize lockout tagout procedures and all other safe practices while working on equipment, and testing equipment for safe functioning.
  11. Document/log inspections/equipment records
  12. Must have ability to work without direct supervision.
  13. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  14. Must keep maintenance area neat and tidy. Including emptying trash, cleaning equipment and controlling any oily conditions on the floor for any equipment that has been worked on.
  15. Follow all safety guidelines as established by Metal Sales Manufacturing and/or management.
  16. Must be willing to do other projects and tasks as directed by Supervision

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to problem solve
  • Must have a sense of priority, putting the equipment's needs above their own brakes, start/end times
  • Equipment may be dirty, greasy, cold, hot, and dark or confined areas as maintenance is done.
  • Must be able to stand/work for 8-10 hrs on concrete floors each day.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs frequently.
