Reporting to the Receiving Supervisor, the Material Handler 2 is responsible for accurate & timely material delivery to production lines and day-to-day receiving department activities, while working closely with both shop floor and receiving department staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive Packing slips
- Fulfill Kanban orders as required
- Pick material and deliver all production boards
- Generate and fill transfers
- Slab picking
- Aluminum picking
- PH tech picking
- Accurate cycle counting
- Cardboard recycling and golf cart driving
- Assist in other areas as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of working area
- Deliver product to various areas of the factory as required
- Valid Fork Lift license and previous experience required (1 year).
- Strong communication, customer service, basic mathematical, and organizational skills.
- Recognize unsafe conditions or hazards within the work area.
- Team player with a desire to get the job done correctly and on time.
- Flexible and willing to learn new functions within the receiving department.
- Ability to multitask and work under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to accept a high degree of responsibility and work well under pressure.
- Computer skills are required.
- Ability to withstand very warm and very cold temperatures.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a frequent basis and do basic foot to metric calculations.
- Previous Crane experience is an asset.
