JOB DETAILS:
Normal Working Hours: 6pm - 6am Monday - Friday
We are seeking an experienced Production, Shipping, and Receiving Supervisor for the Night shift at our Dallas facility. In this role you would be responsible for supervising the shipping and receiving employees as well as assembly personnel in a manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for planning and assigning work schedules, implementing policies and procedures, and recommending improvements in equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise workers who confirm and record the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipping, and load and unload trucks. Also responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport of materials
- Contribute to the development of processes and procedures
- Exercise authority for personnel actions and oversee most day-to-day operations of group
- Use your thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision
- Ensure effective employee relations, providing employee coaching and development, and making employment decisions. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas
- Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager
- Provide leadership through a 30-day planning cycle
- Perform accident investigations
- Manage department priorities
- Track absenteeism and timekeeping
- Manage in a very fluid environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production operations environment that includes managerial/supervisory experience
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results and work to continuously improve in all areas
- Experience in leadership, performance management, problem solving, and planning required
- Ability to supervise and train staff
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Technical acumen in MS Office Suite
- Problem solving abilities
- Bilingual is a plus (Spanish)
