Job Description

Overview:

Manages and directs plant activities to ensure plant is meeting safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics while in accordance with established manufacturing policies and procedures.  Reports as required on metrics and works closely with demand team, sales, customer service, engineering and additional functional areas to ensure optimum customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads all manufacturing activities to achieve high levels of performance in key performance areas, including safety, quality, delivery, cost, housekeeping, preventative maintenance, regulatory compliance, and engagement of employees.
  • In conjunction with the demand planning team, helps ensure daily, weekly and monthly forecasts and budgets are met.  Provides input on any potential concerns and completes reviews for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of operating metrics.  Monitors operating performance to facilitate early recognition of trends.  Proactively communicates with cross functional team regarding any potential disruptions to service.   Ensures timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.  Implements continuous improvement measures and company success pillars.
  • Monitors facility and staffing requirements.  Plans and establishes utilization targets to realize most efficient use of available labor and facilities.  Monitors and ensures adequate capacity and adjusts to match forecast demand.
  • Develops succession plans and talent pipeline. Ensures training plans are in place so that employees are fully and safely trained.
  • Develops facility budget and in partnership with engineering team, provides input for capital projects.
  • Ensures proper inventory and mix is maintained to service customers.
  • Cultivates professional relationships across the business to effectively collaborate and drive completion of company initiatives.
  • Ensures that employees are treated fairly and consistently, and company policies and procedures are followed.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Management, Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent combination of education/experience required.

Experience

  • Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible plant supervisory/management experience; two of which must have been in a relevant industry specific manufacturing environment.

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to analyze data and provide clear and precise reports. Versed in all aspects of MS Office including Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing inclusive of preparation of power point presentations.
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Excellent time management, decision making, human relations, presentation and organization skills
  • Goal oriented, data and results driven.  Accuracy, attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment\.
  • Ability to effectively lead and develop others.

Other

  • Moderate travel required.

Additional Information

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $95,000 - $115,000 + 10% Bonus + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
