JOB DETAILS
Shift: 1st Shift 6:00am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday (Friday and Saturday as needed)
Pay Starting at $20-$24.00 per hour
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities for a Lead Production Associate will include but not limited to supporting manufacturing operations and responsible for coordinating direct report activities on the assigned production line. This role assists the Supervisor in the day-to-day management of people and production objectives, which will result in the production of a quality product, on time and complete. You must be able to meet production requirements while maintaining efficiency and ensuring a quality result and have the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences. Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides direction to all production team members to ensure all key metrics are met accurately and in a timely manner.
- Guide and influence team members’ work activities on the production floor without formal supervisory authority.
- Enter all work completed in computer-based maintenance program
- Provides day-to-day direction and coordination of production employees on assigned line. This position does not have managerial authority but supports supervisors with team oversight and operational guidance.
- Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time.
- Able to read a tape measure accurately and consistently
- Works well with Management
- Perform daily documentation, such as update data sheets, rotation logs, etc…
- Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
- Willing to work flexible hours and/or overtime
- Supervise and support the performance and productivity of employees on the assigned line, including monitoring attendance, providing performance feedback, supporting staffing adjustments in coordination with management and HR.
- Develop and maintain open lines of communication and daily interaction with employees in English
- Work on the line when necessary
- Attend all training required and participate as a trainer when necessary
- Monitor and ensure adherence to good housekeeping practices to enhance pride in the facility
- Participate, develop and maintain 5S and SMART procedures
- Responsible for personal safety as well as involvement in all EHS efforts at this facility. This includes complying with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies or regulations set forth by Simonton and/or various governmental agencies.
- Assist the Supervisor in the daily scheduling of employees based on volume of production
- Ability to fulfill the above requirements of an assistant supervisor.
- Overall company product and process knowledge.
- Demonstrates strong dependability, including a reliable attendance record and flexibility to work varying hours, overtime, or additional shifts as business needs require.
- Provides direction to all production team members to ensure all key metrics are met accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor line staffing, and recommend plans to adjust staffing levels daily, to achieve established goals for each line of responsibility to ensure production levels are met while controlling manpower costs.
- Sustain manufacturing methods, such as 5S, Problem Solving, Visual Management, Line Organization. Ensure compliance with CTQ process and other quality measures.

Requirements:
- Associates degree in related field, or equivalent relative experience
- 2-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of and experience with Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures
- Able to strictly adhere to safety policies/procedures and be committed to customer quality.
- Must be available for regular standby assignments; work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and CMMS systems
- Must be willing to attend training sessions as needed, including out of state locations
- Intermediate knowledge of fabrication (ex. welding, basic machining)
- Possess strong work ethic and knowledge of intermediate troubleshooting
- Able to read printed materials, blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual preferred, English/Spanish
- Ability to work independently and within a team, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships employees, vendors, contractors, and suppliers
- Ability to show attention to detail in a very fast paced environment
Work Environment
Mainly a manufacturing facility, where exposed to moving mechanical parts, forklifts, heavy pallets, moderate to loud noise level, and air-borne dust, powders, and fumes. While working, will be required to wear various personal protective equipment (e.g., clothing, gloves, goggles, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, cut resistant aprons, etc.) based on work area or task.

- Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform heavy physical work with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, use varied hand and power tools, drive a motor vehicle and/or light construction equipment, fork trucks, platform lifts etc.;
- Lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 90 pounds and heavier weights with the use of proper equipment;
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use fingers and hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit for long periods, as well as occasionally be required to climb or balance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
- Exposure to variable temperatures as impacted by the weather, chemicals, and rotating shifts
