Job Description

The Quality Manager oversees all Quality related activities necessary for the successful implementation of quality assurance standards and procedures at the corporate and plant levels. This includes managing manufacturing-related quality functions, such as enhancing and conducting product and process audits, performing internal and external product testing, coordinating quality and continuous improvement initiatives, identifying improvement opportunities, providing quality training to  personnel and implementing quality programs from start to finish.

  • Ability to build strong business relationships and collaborate across multiple functions. 

  • Take end to end quality responsibility, including supplier, manufacturing, and customer satisfaction 

  • Support the development and execution of the Cornerstone Quality Management System at the factory. (use facility or plant term) 

  • Develop and execute effective methods for inspection, testing, sampling, and training 

  • Monitor customer satisfaction and internal metrics, driving initiatives to enhance quality as a competitive advantage. 

  • Support the development and execution of the Cornerstone Production System Quality Control Pillar. 

  • Lead and/or facilitate team problem-solving for customer and internal quality issues, identifying root causes, and implementing Permanent Corrective Actions 

  • Explore and implement new technologies that enhance the effectiveness of quality control systems, including error-proof proof solutions. 

  • Prioritize speed, make informed decisions, and drive issue resolution.  

  • Willingness to travel to visit customers, customer sites, and other Cornerstone locations 

  • Validate and improve existing methods and procedures to enhance products and processes.  

  • Manage CTQ, prioritization quality matrix (QPM), problem-solving, Safe launch and other modules as part of the Corporate Quality strategy. 

  • Maintain quality reporting and documentation for quality-related topics as required 

  • Align data collection and analysis with organizational quality objectives 

  • Ensure proper calibrations are being performed. 

  • Engage the leadership team in setting and achieving goals utilizing Quality initiatives. This includes working with key leadership both functionally and strategically to drive overall improvements in specific areas. 

  • Develop and deliver quality training. 

  • Ensures adherence to departmental budget, communicates status, and recommend future needs. 

  • Has supervisory responsibilities for departmental staff 


Qualifications

  • Six Sigma certification a plus 
  • CWI certification a plus 

  • Manage quality systems, quality training and Kaizen events 

  • Displays a strong ability to use data to rationally analyze and solve issues. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  

  • Thorough understanding of quality standards and methodologies. 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Lifting Capacity – occasionally lift up to 30 lbs. 

  • Mobility – prolonged periods of time on feet, standing, bending, etc.  

  • Exposure – moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and non-climate-controlled environment. 

  • Noise Tolerance – high noise levels. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Supervise a quality team. 

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in engineering or related field and 5+ years of manufacturing experience and at least 2 years of quality experience or continuous improvement
