Job Description

JOB DETAILS

Starting Base Pay: $21 per hour plus based on experience

Shift: 3rd Shift: 10:00pm to 6:30am Monday through Friday (Weekends based on business need)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Team Lead, you'll serve as the vital link between frontline employees and supervision, coordinating daily activities of your designated production team. You'll ensure safe, efficient, and quality manufacturing of window components and finished products while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and oversee a team of production operators, assemblers, or fabricators in areas such as frame assembly, glass cutting, glazing, or final assembly
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor team performance, and ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards
  • Provide comprehensive on-the-job training and support, including new hire onboarding and cross-training initiatives
  • Monitor and enforce safety protocols, including proper PPE usage and compliance with company policies
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate mechanical or process issues appropriately
  • Ensure materials and tools are readily available to maintain efficient production flow
  • Complete detailed daily shift reports and assist with inventory and scrap tracking
  • Lead and support continuous improvement activities and suggest process enhancements
  • Address minor disciplinary issues and escalate personnel concerns when necessary
  • Conduct shift start-up meetings and clearly communicate goals, expectations, and production updates
  • Inspect incoming raw materials (glass, vinyl, hardware, etc.) for specification conformance
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections on window components and completed units
  • Maintain accurate quality records and assist in root cause analysis for non-conforming products

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in window or building materials production
  • Demonstrated leadership ability or prior experience as a lead, trainer, or coordinator
  • Strong understanding of production processes, safety practices, and quality standards
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interpret work orders, production schedules, and basic measurements
  • Basic computer skills for timekeeping, data entry, and reporting
  • Ability to read tape measures and interpret fractions and decimals
  • Quality recognition skills and understanding of in-station quality requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, temperature changes, and machinery
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Experience with window, door, or glass manufacturing
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or 5S methodology
