Job description

JOB DETAILS

Base pay starts at $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Shift: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Monday - Friday

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The maintenance clerk is responsible for maintaining the maintenance materials stock, working with vendors on pricing and ordering of supplies. The clerk will also work with the manager to ensure the tool crib is set up for optimum efficiency to meet the plant needs.

  • Support daily maintenance/maintenance activities
  • Obtain quotes and/or pricing for requested/stock items
  • Enter requisitions for requested/stock items
  • Submit purchase orders to vendors via email and/or use purchase order numbers to place online orders
  • File hard copy purchase orders and track through completion
  • Obtain receipts from stockroom, check in items, and deliver to manufacturing floor and/or put away in maintenance shop; provide signed and dated packing lists to purchasing in a timely manner
  • Pick up items from vendor if needed, check in items, and deliver to manufacturing floor and/or put away in maintenance shop; provide signed and dated packing lists to purchasing in a timely manner
  • Call service only vendors as requested; provide service reports to purchasing in a timely manner
  • Prepare repair and return items for shipment and ship (if FedEx) or request shipment (if LTL) as needed
  • Create/maintain relationships with preferred and other vendors
  • Design, set up, and maintain tool crib for accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency with regards to parts and tools availability
  • Evaluate maintenance/manufacturing needs and determine parts and tools to be stocked, as well as standard vendor and min/max inventory levels
  • Evaluate storage needs and design/set up tool crib layout; accordingly, assign and label inventory locations as needed
  • Work with Grainger, Inc reps to assign and maintain vendor managed items.
  • Enter and maintain Manager + inventory records
  • Maintain tool crib inventory and organization
  • Complete and maintain Daily 5S Task List and Monthly 5S Audit
  • Create standard work for tool crib processes
  • Work with Plant Engineer/Manager to maintain tool crib layout drawing(s)

Qualifications

  • Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Access and Outlook
  • Good customer service and phone skills
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Walks/stands for 10 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 10-20 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist”
  • The position requires agility and mobility performing such activities as stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting and must use hands frequently for grasping and fine manipulation.
  • Individuals will be exposed to routine industrial hazards/safety hazards that require PPE (Minimum: Ear plugs, Safety Glasses, Safety Shoes)
