Job description

  • Data Collection and Integration: Collaborate closely with system administrators and data source owners to establish efficient processes for collecting, aggregating, and integrating data from various sources and systems.
  • Data Preparation and Cleaning: Implement data cleaning and transformation techniques to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Address data anomalies, inconsistencies, and duplications as part of the data preparation process.
  • Data Pipeline Construction: Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to automate the movement and transformation of data. Ensure data flows smoothly from source to destination, adhering to best practices for data pipeline construction.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce data quality standards and procedures. Continuously monitor data quality and proactively identify and rectify data quality issues.
  • Scalability and Performance: Optimize data processing pipelines and infrastructure for scalability and performance. Ensure that data operations can handle increasing volumes of data efficiently.
  • Collaboration with Data Scientists and ML Engineers (3rd parties): Work closely with internal data scientists and external machine learning engineers to provide them with clean, well-structured data for model development and tuning.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement security measures and data governance practices to safeguard sensitive data. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and company policies.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms to proactively identify and resolve data pipeline issues. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related incidents in a timely manner.

Qualifications

 

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data cleansing, and data transformation.
  • 3+ years of experience in SQL and data manipulation tools (e.g., Python, R, Spark).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles and data cleansing techniques.
  • Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data modeling.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently to meet project deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify data quality issues and develop effective solutions.
